HK - Random Foods from Supermarket, 7-11, 大家樂 & 許留山 ~

Supermarket
Supermarket may not be the most interesting place to visit during travelling, but if you have sufficient time, do pop in for a short stroll. This is one of the ways to get to know their daily living and you’ll never know what surprises you may find there (like the Hokkaido Milk Ice cream ♥)

I just love supermarket with lotsa food counters! They simply have too many choices there – sushi, bento rice, sandwich, roasted pork, fried vegetables and even stir-fried crab, all readily packed for u to Grab ‘n Go! Very convenient for office ladies and working people.

Sushi Box Set (Taste Supermarket, Citygate Outlet) – they have one of too many sushi box sets to choose from! Reasonably fresh and good tasting.

7-11
Ok, so 7-11 is not something new and I’ve talked about it for countless time. And I need not to mention again how convenient it is and how much I love 7-11 in Hong Kong. But you definitely will be grateful to find a 7-11 nearby to your hotel.

Looking for some instant hot meal to warm up that tummy during winter? Pop in to the nearest 7-11!

Stomach growling in the wee hours? 7-11 is there for you 24/7!

Craving for a dose of latest celebrities gossips? Get a magazine or two at 7-11!

Instant 碗仔翅 (Mini Shark’s Fin bowl) – Don’t let its name fool you, actually there is no shark’s fin inside but nevertheless, it tastes great! Add a dash of vinegar (included) to the gluey concoction for an extra sour taste.

荷葉飯(Lotus Leaf Rice) – Throw it into the microwave, heat it for a minute or two and weeee, a hot and delectable supper right in front of you! Of course, don’t compare it with those freshly cooked in restaurant. But for a quick supper at odd hours, this is good enough!

Café de Carol (大家樂)
If you are in a rush to cure that hunger pangs, go for Café de Coral (大家樂) as they are everywhere in the city and town! Fast, convenient, affordable and tasty.

Our tea time – Grilled Chicken Wing and Condensed Milk Toast. Salty + sweet in the same plate… pretty weird indeed :D

Sweedish Chicken Thigh – tender and not oily.

Hui Lau Shan (許留山)
Think of desserts, think of Hui Lau Shan (許留山)! :D

北海道牛奶: 慕絲 - 紅豆抹茶 & 粒粒芒果(Hokkaido Milk: Mousse – Red Bean Matcha & Mango) – one of the latest dessert series made from Hokkaido milk. Smooth and light in texture.

XO酱萝卜糕 (Fried Radish Cake with XO Sauce) – Our all-time fav! So aromatic and flavourful – with a great help from XO Sauce.

多芒鸳鸯黑糯米 (Black Glutinous Rice in Mango & Coconut Juice with Extra Mango) – cooling dessert ~

什果芒果捞河 (Mixed Fruits & Coconut Noodle in Mango Juice)

That's about all HK foodies we had this time! Will start working on Macau post, but before that, I will make a small review about the hotel we stayed at HK :)

  1. That`s awesome!, you know I usual to think I wanna try around the world of 7-11 such as Japan, Taiwan & etc.

However, in Australia 7-11 is really boring, all they sell just magazines, drinks, lollies, sandwich & cigarettes. Dont even have microwave like Asian country 7-11.

  2. What a cute ambition! A 7-11 hunter! But if I have the chance, I would love to visit all 7-11 around the world too :D

I did pop in to 7-11 in Melb. Not as interesting as HK ones I must agree. They do have frozen instant foods but not much selection available. But still, better than 7-11 in M'sia :P
